Dress: Ingrid & Isabel // Sunglasses: Kate Spade
This past week my mom sent me two maternity dresses to celebrate the second trimester! The dress in the pictures above is one of them and it is SO comfortable. Since I am having a summer baby, and I will be my most pregnant in the summer (and since where I live it is already in the seventies and it is only FEBRUARY) I plan on living in dresses for my entire pregnancy. I am so excited to finally have maternity clothes - and be able to actually look like a pregnant lady in them!
On Friday, Ben and I went in for our 16 week check up. We were hoping that we’d get to have an ultrasound done just because it is SO fun to see our little one. But also because we would be able to find out the gender at this point!! Unfortunately, ultrasounds aren’t medically necessary at 16 weeks (actually, thank God that it wasn’t medically necessary because that means all is well!). Even though we didn’t get an ultrasound, we were able to hear the baby’s heartbeat, which was just as fun! I love hearing that rapid little lubdub! We will find out the gender at our next appointment at 20 weeks! SO EXCITED!!
Shirt, Tank Top, Hat, and Water Bottle: Tone It Up // Shoes: Asics
I LOVE being pregnant! I feel like it’s just the absolute best thing in the world. I love the bump, the clothes, the happiness, the excitement, and all of the miraculous, amazing aspects of the process! It’s so incredible and I feel so blessed to be able to experience all of this! I’m pretty sure that I want to get pregnant again right away after this baby is born. I think it would be so fun to have our kids be about 17-18 months apart. Plus, I just want to be pregnant all the time. It’s so fun!
It’s especially fun now that I’m out of the first trimester. My morning sickness and fatigue are gone, along with A LOT of other crazy symptoms. I’ve pretty much experienced every pregnancy symptom at one point or another: metallic taste in mouth, cramps, bloody nose, acne, exhaustion, dizziness, morning sickness, cravings, nausea and vomitting, food aversions, crazy dreams, heartburn….you name it! But as unpleasant as some of these have been, I’ve kind of loved them all because they mean that I’m pregnant and they are a part of experiencing this crazy, beautiful thing!
Also, just a quick little mushy moment: Ben is seriously the sweetest, greatest, most amazing man. He takes SUCH good care of me always, but even more so now that I'm pregnant. I feel so unbelievably blessed! I'm SO excited to raise this child with him and to see this little person that is a mixture of the two of us! Sometimes I am just so happy and thankful that I really feel like my heart could burst.
