Mommy Monday: 22 weeks!

Happy Easter!

I hope you all had an amazing Easter! Ben and I spent the day at home, enjoying each other’s company. :) Ben made a super yummy dinner and we just had such a wonderful day. I felt baby boy kick UNDER my ribs for the first time. That was a weird feeling! I was lying down on my side, so I was kind of at a weird angle and I think that’s why the kicks were under my ribs since my uterus isn’t up that high yet. Although I read that when babies stretch they stretch the uterus. So it’s possible he’s stretching and getting his little feet under my ribs. And boy let me tell you, that was the weirdest feeling! It hurt haha. I can’t imagine when he gets bigger and stronger! I also read that some girls get their ribs dislocated by kicking babies!! I’m worried! haha

My mom was in town for a few days this week! It was SUCH a huge help having her here! She cooked, cleaned, walked Gunner, and kept me company while Ben was at work. It was seriously such a blessing having her here. It gave Ben a chance to relax from the constant cooking and cleaning and caring for me and Gunner ON TOP of a long day of work. We really really appreciated her being here! My dad’s cousin Kris, her husband Ross, and their son Jon drove my mom to and from the airport and so we got to visit with them which was SO nice!! They brought snacks for me to enjoy while on bedrest and some baby clothes for our little guy. So so kind and thoughtful of them!

Look at those leg muscles!!

I had my weekly check up with my perinatologist on Wednesday and she said that my cervix is stable!! Woohoo!! It’s still very short and I’m still at high risk, BUT it’s stable and not getting any shorter so that is AWESOME news! Just need it to stay that way! According to the measurements that my perinatologist takes, my weeks actually turn over on Tuesdays rather than Fridays. So tomorrow (Tuesday) I will be 23 weeks already! Moving right along and just one more week until we hit that magical and critical 24 week mark! Next Monday and Tuesday I go in to get steroid injections which will help the baby’s lungs to develop faster in case he comes out sooner than his due date. That will be such a relief to have that done.

Now, I’ll just take a moment to gush, once again, about how INCREDIBLE my husband is and how unbelievably good he is to me. He never once complains about having to do all of the cooking and cleaning. He works LONG hours at his job and then comes home and takes care of the house, me, and Gunner. He always makes me feel beautiful and loved. Basically he is just the absolute greatest and my appreciation for him grows more and more every day.
