Read Along With Me: Winter Reading List

This year, I'm doing my book club a bit differently. Instead of posting one book for us all to read and then discuss each month, I'll be doing one post per season. I'll be giving you a list of some of the books that I'm planning on reading each season. That way you can read along with me and pick and choose which books appeal to you! Also, if you're anything like me, one book suggestion each month is just not nearly enough.

I'll be suggesting 10 books per season, so you'll be set for lots and lots of literary goodness!

So, let's get right into it, shall we? Here are the ten books that I am planning on reading this Winter:

 1. A Man Called Ove, By Fredrik Backman (I'm currently reading this one and I am loving it!!)

6. The Chemist, By Stephenie Meyer

10. Career Of Evil, By Robert Galbraith

Let me know what you think of this new Read Along With Me format! And be sure to share any other good books that you've read lately - I love recommendations!!

Happy Reading!!

Read Along With Me: December's Book Club Book + What's To Come In 2017!

2016 is QUICKLY coming to an end...crazy! It's been so fun having you read along with me this year! To close out the year, we will be reading 'Wild and Free' by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan.

Here's a little blurb from Amazon about this book:

Wild and Free is an anthem and an invitation in equal parts to find freedom from the cultural captivity that holds us back, and freedom to step into the wild and holy call of God in our lives. With fresh biblical insight tracing all the way back to Eve and a treasury of practical application, Jess and Hayley reveal how women today can walk in the true liberty we already have in Jesus.

Because you don’t have to be everything to everyone. You don’t have to try so hard to button it up and hold it together. And you certainly don’t have to quiet the voice that God gave you when he created you to sing. Wild and Free will help you shake off the lies of insecurity in your life, and step forward to maximize your God-given influence for his glory and the world’s good.

Join me in reading this book and be sure to head back to this post when you've finished it to comment with your thoughts!

So, what's the plan for 2017?

Well, I'm going to do things a bit differently. I'll be posting a Reading List each season...four total. Each reading list will contain a list of several books that I plan to read that season. That way you can see what I'm reading (and what I'm going to be reading) over the next few months.

The first reading list will be my Winter Reading List and it will be posted in January, so check back for that!

Thanks for reading along, and let's keep the discussions going! i love discussing good books with good people! :)

Happy reading, friends!

Read Along With Me: November's Book!

Alexandra Fuller is without a doubt one of my very favorite authors. You may know her as the author of the book 'Don't Let's Go To The Dogs Tonight' and 'Scribbling the Cat', as well as 'Leaving Before the Rains Come'. She writes about her childhood and upbringing in Africa, and I find her books hard to put down.

For November, we'll be reading another of her books: 'Cocktail Hour Under The Tree Of Forgetfulness'. This book is about Fuller's parents and their lives in the wild of Africa. It sounds amazing, intriguing, funny, and raw, and I am so giddy to get into it.

Comment below to let me know if you'll be reading along with me this month!

Read Along With Me: October's Book!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween! I don't know what it is about it, but I love it. I love all the decorations and the eeriness and the pumpkins...everything! So, for October's book I thought we'd try something a bit spooky! 'In the Woods' by Tana French sounds like it will be just the right dose of creepy goodness to see us through the month!

Here's a quick description of the book:

As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.

Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a twelve-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox—his partner and closest friend—find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery. Now, with only snippets of long-buried memories to guide him, Ryan has the chance to uncover both the mystery of the case before him and that of his own shadowy past.Richly atmospheric and stunning in its complexity, In the Woods is utterly convincing and surprising to the end.

Let me know in the comments below if you'll be reading along with me! And be sure to comment below with your thoughts when you've finished the book!

Happy reading!

Read Along With Me: September's Book!

Who else is ready for Fall?? Pumpkin Spice, colorful leaves, crisp air... Fall is my favorite season, without a doubt! It's also the perfect season to curl up by the fire with a good book. This month, we'll be reading 'The Dollhouse' by Fiona Davis. Here's a quick little teaser:

Fiona Davis's stunning debut novel pulls readers into the lush world of New York City's glamorous Barbizon Hotel for Women, where in the 1950's a generation of aspiring models, secretaries, and editors lived side-by-side while attempting to claw their way to fairy-tale success, and where a present-day journalist becomes consumed with uncovering a dark secret buried deep within the Barbizon's glitzy past.

I can't wait to dive into this one! Will you be reading along with me?? Let me know in the comments below! :) Then, once you've finished reading it, come back here and comment below with your thoughts!
